Three Blind Mice are on the program in Scruffy City Orchestra’s Fall Concert!
Ace Edewards again leads Scruffy City Orchestra in this fall’s Three Blind Mice Concert. The performance is Friday, Oct. 4 at 8 p.m. as part of Sacred Heart’s Cathedral Concert Series.
The repertoire features solos by double bassist Lance Gaupp, winner of the 2024 SCO Concerto Competition, and local vocalist Noelle Harb as well as an original premiere piece by local composer Patrick Thomas. We finish up, appropriately, with Holbrooke’s unusual and fun Three Blind Mice!
The repertoire for the Fall 2023 performance includes:
- Journey to a Glorious Day (premiere), by Patrick Thomas, local composer
- Ruhe Sanft, Mein Holdes Leben from the opera Zaïde, W.A. Mozart, vocalist Noelle Harb
- Double Bass Concerto, Op. 3, Serge Koussevitzky, Lance Gaupp, concerto competition winner
- Intermission (featuring harpist Megan Keb)
- Ruy Blas, Op. 95, Felix Mendelssohn
